Whether you’re a local or coming down to the Jersey Shore for a little getaway, you are bound to catch a live music performance. Many of the restaurants often hire bands to play and entertain in the summertime. In addition to that, we are fortunate to have some great music venues in the Point Pleasant Beach area that are popular hubs for bands and entertainers alike to perform.

Point Pleasant Beach
In Point Pleasant Beach alone, there are multiple spots where you can catch a bite while enjoying some live entertainment. In no particular order, we will be listing some of the more popular locations to experience this duo. The Food Shack is located on the south end of the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach. They offer breakfast and lunch with live music on Sunday mornings. On Thursdays, they host a dinner by reservation only and always have some sort of performer to add to the ambiance, which is accompanied by the fireworks show on the beach. Next up is the Patio Bar at the Wharfside, located along the Manasquan River. Apart from the Wharfside’s formal sit-down restaurant, their patio bar is a very happening spot to grab lunch, dinner, or a drink! They have a small stage where bands can set up and jam while families and friends can enjoy the outside atmosphere with the salty air rolling off the water. The Broadway Bar and Grill is an awesome little bar/restaurant that always has great local bands inside as well as an outside seating area! There are a few spots on the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk that host music, including Jenks Club, Martell’s Tiki Bar, and the Inlet Bar. All of these spots have a range of music, from live bands to DJs, depending on the time and place. Be sure to check out their website or social media for updated information regarding the entertainment.

Manasquan
Moving on to the town of Manasquan, there are a handful of spots to pair music with dining of all sorts. The town will block the main street off once a week to allow the restaurants to move their seating into the heart of town and have live music flooding the downtown area. If you head closer to the beach in Manasquan, you will find Leggetts Sand Bar, which offers outside dining typically paired with a local band. Right around the corner from there, you will find The Salty Whale and Guesthouse. Part restaurant and bar and part guesthouse, The Salty Whale hosts a great environment usually paired with music, whether it is inside or out. If you are looking for an on the water experience, we also would suggest Pig and Parrot or Waypoint 622. Both spots overlook the Manasquan River and offer restaurant service inside and outside. The nightlife will always amp up the entertainment vibe. However, both spots usually cater to the dinner crowd when it comes to music as well.
Belmar
Skipping over a few towns, we find ourselves in Belmar. For restaurant-style entertainment, we would point you in the direction of 9th Ave Pier in Belmar. Looking over Shark River, 9th Ave Pier is a seasonal outdoor joint that serves small meals and is one of the best sunset spots around, with live music for everyone! When it comes to a bar and music scene, Belmar also houses Salty’s Beach Bar, Bar Anticipation, and D’Jais Oceanview Bar & Cafe. All three places alike serve bar-style food with an emphasis on the nightlife and entertainment!
Asbury Park
Lastly, we would like to introduce Asbury Park for most of your live music wants and needs. Asbury is an entertainment hub with restaurants, bars, clubs, and historic entertainment landmarks! There are plenty of restaurants and bars located on or around Cookman Avenue in downtown Asbury Park. Johnny Mac House of Spirits, Bond Street Bar, and Asbury Ale House are a few of those spots that offer music, food, and a fun atmosphere. If you head closer to the beach and boardwalk, you are met with the famous Stone Pony and Wonder Bar. The Stone Pony has had widely known artists perform both inside and outside when they set up their summer stage. Along the boardwalk is The Beach Bar, Tim McCloone’s Supper Club, The Robinson Ale House, and The Break. The Asbury Hotel hosts music in its lobby area as well as some events on its rooftop. Asbury Lanes is a bowling alley that offers a stage for entertaining as well as an attached retro-style diner. No matter where you wander to in Asbury Park, you are bound to find some music downtown or near the beach!
