The Jersey Shore consists of many small towns with big possibilities. There is a stretch of tiny beach communities located along the coast in our area. Each town is unique, with its own personality, shops, restaurants, and events. The NJ Transit Rail Line runs up and down our little Jersey Shore coastal beach towns. You can hop off at each station and enter the heart of each downtown area. If you walk a couple blocks towards the east, you will hit the beach. The train can actually take you all the way to New York City. This is a great way to travel solo or with friends and family to add an exciting element to your stay.
Point Pleasant Beach welcomes all to its quaint grouping of shops along Arnold and Bay Avenue. As you walk in town, you will find a variety of storefronts ranging from home decor, books, clothing boutiques, food cafes, and more. If you walk towards the beach, you will be met with amusement rides, games, an arcade, an aquarium, and everything coastal! The inlet is a great spot to fish or simply watch the boats go to and from the ocean.
The next stop is Manasquan which has a wonderful downtown area full of small businesses and delectable eateries. You can find fabulous clothing boutiques, awesome surf shops, and great food spots to satisfy your needs. You can visit the other side of the inlet if you walk towards the beach. There is also a great dog beach, separate from the main beach, that is open year-round.
Hop back on the train and stop off in Spring Lake, where the boardwalk lasting many miles across multiple towns begins. You can walk the boards all the way to Asbury while parallel to the beach and surrounding local shops.
Asbury Park is the heart and soul of the music scene around here. You will be sure to find a catchy tune or a big headliner rocking the night away!
