Planning a vacation to Point Pleasant Beach? You’re in luck! There are always plenty of things to do in Point Pleasant Beach. In any season, Point Pleasant Beach is a fantastic place for a getaway for couples or the whole family.
If you stop by this fall, come for an extended stay and enjoy a laid-back version of Point Pleasant Beach that you won’t find in the heat of the summer. Here are some of the best things to do in Point Pleasant Beach.
Take a Stroll on the Beach
Parts of Jenkinson’s Beach may be closed in the fall, but you can access the town beach on Maryland Avenue. No lifeguards are on duty after Labor Day, so swimming in the water is prohibited. However, you can sit on the sand and walk along the shore on the beach at any time.
There is something satisfying about being one of only a few people on the beach. You can make sand castles and dig moats and frolic around without worrying about getting in the way of other people.
Bring a blanket and relax while you watch and listen to the waves rolling in. Take off your shoes and feel the sand on your feet as you walk along the shore. Look for seashells and sand dollars. You can have a nice quiet time with a loved one, your family, or even by yourself.

Jenkinson’s Boardwalk
When vacationing in Point Pleasant Beach, one attraction stands out among the rest: Jenkinson’s Boardwalk. This boardwalk includes a variety of activities to entertain visitors of all ages and interests. Jenkinson’s Boardwalk is open year-round. Parking is easy, or you could stay at one of our Point Pleasant Beach vacation rentals near the boardwalk and just walk over. Jenkinson’s Boardwalk is a mile-long pathway that is easily walkable.
There are stores, restaurants, rides, and other attractions throughout the whole boardwalk. While some outdoor activities are closed after Labor Day, there is still plenty to do. Check out the arcades and indoor restaurants, or just enjoy the atmosphere. The boardwalk is a perfect place for a romantic stroll or for young kids to run around and get rid of some energy.
Jenkinson’s Aquarium
Jenkinson’s Aquarium is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. Say hello to Wally, the two-toed sloth. Look at all of the exhibits of sharks, coral reefs, penguins, and seals. There is even a turtle pond filled with rescue turtles.
Come during feeding times and watch the seals, sharks, and penguins dine. Book a private behind-the-scenes tour to get a better look at everything. This aquarium is fun for the kids, but it also teaches you about marine conservation, helping us all to be better stewards of the land and water.

Mini Golf
There are two mini golf courses at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk. Last Wave Brewing Co.
Nick and Bert are lifelong friends with a passion for surfing and brewing craft beer. Over 10 years ago, they got serious about brewing. They worked at several breweries, developed their own recipes, and tried out all the recipes until they got it right.
Together with Bert’s wife, Dani, they opened the Last Wave Brewing Co. so they could share their love of beer while enjoying the Point Pleasant Beach lifestyle. You can come down to the brewery, which is located on Bay Avenue, or have your beer delivered to any of the Point Pleasant Beach NJ rentals on special delivery days.
